"Omicron"
Although it is still in its infancy, the "Omicron" mutation is significantly more lethal and contagious than its forerunners.
According to the WHO, preliminary results show that the new mutation, which was detected for the first time in South Africa, is the most contagious of all the virus mutations discovered thus far.
The new strain was labeled a "strain of concern" by the organization.
